Your pup can come and play for the day in our dog-trainer approved estate. Whether that's socializing safely with other pups, lounging poolside or exploring our lush, fenced grounds and taking in the view, the activities are endless for dogs of all ages and energy levels. 

If it's an overnight stay, think of it as staying with grandma. Spoiling and treats (if okay!) included. Our fairy dog mother, Marion, ensures your pups are tucked in tight each night in her cottage with bedtime stories and warm lap if they need.

Daycare & Overnight Boarders must have updated vaccinations and come for a meet and greet prior to staying over - see intake procedures below.

Bring your bird and he can spend the day talking to Taco our African Grey. Birds will be housed in our living room (we are experts at cleaning up after birds). Bring their food and cage (we will be obtaining some larger cages for your parrots). We will play with them if you are OK with them out their cages and they will be in a secure room at all times.

What I disliked about taking my dogs to a salon was that they spent the better part of the day in a grooming salon and 90% of that time was in a crate while other dogs were being funneled through.  I only work on your dog while they are here.  There are no dogs barking around them creating a stressful environment and they get to watch the horses and Egyptian Geese while I work.  The salon is fully built out to professional standards and I encourage you to come and chat (or enjoy a glass of wine) with me while I work on your dog.  Only highest quality products are used (Chris Christenson) which allows me to treat specific coats with specific products. Specializing  in Doodle grooming (all sizes and all conditions).  Prices on request.

Not sure where to leave your rats / mice / hamsters / sugarbabies / lizards / snakes or other exotic? – We got you covered.  We will separate these guys into a private suite so that they are not bothered by dogs or cats. I don’t play with spiders (sorry).

What is Kritterly?

Kritterly is an insured, elite pet care service in Raleigh, NC. Kritterly provides luxurious, safe doggy care and customized overnight pet boarding. We evolved out of our pure and utter love for all animals of all sizes and the needs of the human at the other end of the leash. When we say we understand your unpredictable busy life, we truly mean it. We lived it. As a professional woman with pets, kids and with a crazy work/life schedule, I was always concerned where I would leave my pets when I had to travel, which was more often than not. I wasn't satisfied with my options - hiring dog sitters who would visit twice a day leaving my dog unattended for the rest of the day, or having a stranger stay at my house or kenneling my dogs in boarding facilities that had 20-30 dogs and having them sleep alone. And what about my bird? There are no excellent boarding facilities for exotic pets. The truth is, it kept me up at night.I thought, why not create something better? So, Kritterly was born. Kritterly is an intimate approach to pet care. We love your pets as much as our own and understand your needs as a person with a life. Birds are integrated into our family’s day.

Additionally, we strongly focus on giving back to our local community. We are starting by asking for donations to our local shelters and in time (with your help) aim to set up an animal food bank here in the Triangle, where families can get animal supplies when times are tough. What can I expect during my Kritterly experience?

Meet & Greet

We require every pet owner to come to the house for a meet and greet. This is our way of knowing that your pet fits in with our family and vice versa. You will also get to have a look at the property and make sure you are comfortable. Click on ‘request booking’ and we will be in touch to set up meeting over a weekend.  Please be advised that meet and greets will be charged for; this fee will be deducted should you chose to use us for future bookings.

CONTRACT

Once we agree to move ahead, we will send you a link to sign the Docusign forms and the client portal where you can set up your profile so that you can easily book and pay going forward. We require up to date vaccination records from your veterinarian (specially for Rabies and Bortadella). 

DROP OFF & PICK UP

We aim to make this easy.  When you drop off, come around to the garage and we will take your pet indoors. We have found (just like human daycare) the pets do better if the owners do not linger and drop off is seamless. We will reverse the procedures for pick up. Text us when you are on your way and we will be ready to hand over your pet.

Once we agree to move ahead, you can go ahead and fill out the client intake forms  and sign up on the portal. We require up to date vaccination records from your veterinarian (specially for Rabies and Bortadella). Our calendar will get blocked off for those dates we are unavailable. We require a 50% deposit to secure your booking and a 48 hour cancellation to get your deposit refunded. You can download the app so that this can all be done with your phone. Payment will be taken through the client portal (Visa, MC, or ACH).

DROP OFF & PICK UP

We aim to make this easy. During the week of your stay, you will be sent a gate code that is only valid for that week. When you drop off, come around to the garage and we will take your pet indoors. Text us when you are on your way and we will be ready to hand over your pet. This process may take a little longer for birds and exotics..

One of the primary reasons for starting Kritterly was to develop an animal food bank for animals in times of crisis. We were dismayed at the animals that were left behind after the 2018 North Carolina hurricanes, yet amazed at the people who dedicated their time to making sure displaced animals were safe. Our long term vision is to create a food bank for animals in Raleigh that shelters and the Red Cross can turn to in times of need. Until we get mobilized on that front, we have created an Amazon wish list with items that local animal shelters are looking for. Please consider donating items off this list and together we can help those animals less fortunate than our own.
